Tenneco develops innovative solutions for sound design for exhaust systems, defining the brand characteristic sound of many cars. Already at an early stage and in close cooperation with the customer, new sound alternatives are defined at the Edenkoben R&D Center and brought to the production stage by simulation and vehicle tests. The sound development is closely connected with design solutions for both front (hot end) and rear (cold end) muffler. Tenneco also has the competence to use valve timing for sound design.
