Experience over many years

Tenneco develops and produces mufflers and complete exhaust systems for motorbikes, falling back on over 20 years experience in original equipment manufacturing of motorbikes.

Due to the flow-optimized design of these systems low back pressure values values can be achieved besides efficient exhaust cleaning. At the same time, all legally requested limit values concerning acoustics and emission can be met. An individual characteristical sound can be achieved by a specific acoustic development. Besides functional aspects, exhaust systems for motorbikes represent an important styling element focusing on both design and surface quality.

Consistent high surface quality is guaranteed throughout the whole process chain starting from raw material quality control, via specific handling processes to reliable surface treatment.

Complete System:

Maximum power output of the engine, minimum weight and extremely limited package dimensions were the constraints for the development of this exhaust system for a road race motorbike.
It is equipped with an interference double flap between the manifold pipes to optimize the gas exchange. A second exhaust gas valve is placed downstream of the main exhaust muffler in order to optimise the acoustics performance. The surfaces of the rear muffler and the heat shield are wire brushed, the rear muffler support is stainless steel blasted.

Rear Muffler:

Completely surface treated, available in either brushed or chromed version. The special layout design prevents the outer parts from thermal discoloration, even under maximum operational demands.
The lightweight construction reduces the weight to 4.6 kg with a muffler volume of 8.8l, without using special materials (e.g. titanium).
